For those unfamiliar with Patreon, it is an online service that lets fans support the creative class— musicians, artists, designers, makers and the like, via a monthly membership. A cool concept, but tough to wrap your head around. It was our job to create a brand narrative that the company could not only rally around, but attract artists and fans to the service as well. What we came up with was not just a way forward for them, but an ethos that made Jack Conte, Patreon’s CEO, lose his shit and say, “fuck yes, that’s it.”
